Training and Nutrition Come First
Every compound discussed in this journal amplifies a stimulus. If the stimulus is weak, amplification produces very little.
Why this belongs here
The most common disappointment is not a bad product. It is a good product doing exactly what it does to training and nutrition that were not producing results in the first place.
Protein is the one that matters
Muscle is built from it and preserved by it. In a deficit it is the variable that decides how much of the weight lost is fat rather than tissue.
This becomes acute on appetite-suppressing compounds, where protein is the first thing to fall. See GLP-1s and muscle retention.
Progressive overload
The signal that tells the body to keep or add tissue is demand. Compounds improve how well you respond to that demand and how fast you recover from it; they do not replace it.
Someone running the same weights for the same reps has not asked for anything, and no compound answers a question that was not posed.
Sleep is not optional
Growth hormone release concentrates in slow-wave sleep. Recovery, appetite regulation and testosterone production all degrade with poor sleep.
Anyone paying for GH compounds while sleeping five hours is undermining the thing they bought. See melatonin and sleep.
The deficit or surplus has to be real
No compound decides energy balance except by changing how much you eat. Fat loss compounds compared sets out which ones actually do that and which only change how the result looks.
The order of operations
Training consistent, protein adequate, sleep sufficient, energy balance intentional. Then compounds, if you still want them.
Done in that order they work well. Done in reverse they mostly produce side effects. See first cycle considerations.
