Injection Sites and Rotation
Site rotation is not fussiness: repeatedly injecting the same spot is how people end up with lumps, scar tissue and erratic absorption.
Subcutaneous and intramuscular are different jobs
Subcutaneous goes into the fat layer beneath the skin. Slower, steadier absorption, a short fine needle, and very little discomfort. This is where peptide pens work, the SerenQ pens are designed for it.
Intramuscular goes into muscle, which is better supplied with blood and absorbs oil-based preparations reliably. This is the route for oil-carried compounds like testosterone.
They are not interchangeable. An oil-based compound placed subcutaneously is a common cause of lumps and irritation.
Why rotation matters
Injecting the same site repeatedly causes local tissue change: hardening, scarring, and in subcutaneous use, lipohypertrophy: the fatty lumps that develop under the skin.
Beyond appearance, damaged tissue absorbs unpredictably. That is the real problem: your amount stops being your amount, because the tissue is no longer behaving normally. Erratic results from a compound that was working are worth investigating at the site before blaming the product.
A rotation that people actually follow
The best system is the one you will keep to. A simple approach: pick a side, work through the available sites in a fixed order, then switch sides.
For subcutaneous use the abdomen (avoiding the area immediately around the navel), the outer thigh and the back of the upper arm all work. Keep successive injections a few centimetres apart rather than merely on the same general area.
Note it down. The two-line record from your first week with a peptide pen covers this as well as the amount.
Basic technique
Clean the site with alcohol and let it dry, injecting through wet alcohol stings and achieves nothing. Use a fresh needle every time; a reused one is blunt and does more tissue damage. See pen tips: sizes, fitting and disposal.
With a pen, hold the button for the full count printed on it before withdrawing. Releasing early is a genuine and invisible cause of short delivery.
When to leave a site alone
Avoid anywhere bruised, inflamed, hardened, lumpy or scarred. Absorption there is unreliable and you are compounding existing damage.
Persistent redness, heat, swelling or pain that worsens rather than settles is not normal soreness and warrants medical attention rather than another injection.
Disposal
Sharps container, every time. Not a bin, not a bottle. Pen tips and disposal covers the routine, and travelling with peptide pens covers doing it away from home.
