SerenQ Tirzepatide is a long-acting dual agonist peptide (GLP-1 + GIP) supplied in a sealed, pre-filled injection pen. No reconstitution, no bacteriostatic water, no drawing up from vials. Dial the units, read them off the window, dispense.
A long-acting dual agonist peptide, pre-dissolved in a graduated pen
SerenQ Pharmaceuticals builds research grade tirzepatide into a sealed, pre-filled injection pen rather than a lyophilised vial with a separate bacteriostatic water ampoule. No reconstitution, no working out volumes from a concentration, no drawing up with a syringe barrel. Dial the units, read them off the window, done.
Available in 20mg and 40mg strengths, both delivered in the same 300 unit pen format so the only variable is concentration per unit. Select your strength above. SerenQ has appointed The Ped Shop as its exclusive UK stockist. Every pen sold here comes direct from the manufacturer, in sealed retail cartons, with a unique serial number and QR authenticity code on the label.

Serialised & QR Verified
Every SerenQ product carries a unique serial number and a QR code printed on the label. Scan it with any phone camera and you can independently confirm the pen is genuine SerenQ stock and check its batch details before you open the carton.
One code per pen. Each one can only be registered once, so a duplicate scan is an immediate red flag.

Tirzepatide is a synthetic, long-acting dual agonist peptide that binds two incretin receptors: the GLP-1 receptor and the GIP (glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide) receptor. That combined mechanism is what separates it from single receptor agonists like semaglutide, which binds GLP-1 alone. Adding the GIP arm alongside GLP-1 has produced improvements in the published trials across both glycaemic control and body weight endpoints when placed head to head with GLP-1 monotherapy.
Structurally it is a 39 amino acid peptide, engineered from a native GIP backbone with substitutions that give it activity at the GLP-1 receptor as well, and a C20 fatty diacid chain attached via a linker at lysine 20 for reversible albumin binding. That albumin binding is what carries the plasma half-life out to approximately 5 days, making weekly dosing the operating assumption in the published trials.
The two receptor arms pull in different directions in the research literature. GLP-1 activation drives glucose dependent insulin secretion, suppresses glucagon in the fed state, delays gastric emptying, and modulates hypothalamic satiety signalling. GIP activation adds a second insulinotropic route via pancreatic beta cells, and the receptor's expression in adipose tissue and central nervous system has drawn interest as a driver of the effects on body weight and lipid handling seen with dual agonism. Research applications span glycaemic control, body weight and adiposity, appetite regulation, and metabolic function.
Both the 20mg and 40mg pens deliver the same molecule at the same 300 unit graduation, so the only variable across the two is concentration per unit.
The pen format
Both strengths use the same pen platform. Instead of a lyophilised vial that has to be reconstituted with bacteriostatic water, calculated for concentration and drawn up with a syringe, the tirzepatide arrives pre-dissolved in a stabilised solution and pre-loaded into a graduated injection pen with a dial and a dose window. Every dial setting delivers a consistent, verifiable volume.
20mg pen
- 20mg of tirzepatide per pen, pre-dissolved in solution
- 1 unit = 66.7mcg
- 15 units on the dial gives 1mg
- 300 units in total, which works out at 20 full 15 unit draws per pen
40mg pen
- 40mg of tirzepatide per pen, pre-dissolved in solution
- 1 unit = 133mcg
- 15 units on the dial gives 2mg
- 300 units in total, which works out at 20 full 15 unit draws per pen
Shared across both strengths
- Dial and dose window let you set the exact amount and read it back before dispensing
- 4 screw on pen tips supplied, individually sealed, 32G 0.23 x 4mm
- Protective cap, clip and a rigid retail carton for storage and transport
- Batch number, expiry and serial printed directly on the pen barrel, not just the box
Handling and storage
- Store refrigerated at 2 to 8°C. Do not freeze
- Keep in the outer carton, away from direct light
- Solution should be clear and colourless. Discard if cloudy, discoloured or if particulates are visible
- Short periods at room temperature during transit are expected and normal, though prolonged exposure will degrade potency
- Use a fresh sealed tip for each dispense and dispose of tips in a sharps container
- Expiry 12/2027 on sealed, correctly stored stock
- Keep out of reach of children and animals
What is in the box
- 1 × SerenQ Tirzepatide pre-filled injection pen (20mg or 40mg per your selection above)
- 4 × sealed pen tips, 32G 0.23 x 4mm
- Serialised, QR coded retail carton
Tirzepatide or retatrutide?
Tirzepatide agonises two receptors, GLP-1 and GIP. Retatrutide adds a third, glucagon. That single addition is the whole decision.
GLP-1 and GIP act largely on appetite, insulin response and gastric emptying, reducing what you take in. Glucagon receptor agonism brings energy expenditure into it, so the body spends more as well. A more aggressive mechanism is more aggressive in both directions.
Tirzepatide is the better-characterised of the two by a wide margin, with a larger and longer-running body of evidence. Retatrutide is newer, with trial results that have attracted attention for their magnitude and a correspondingly shorter track record.
If this is a first GLP-1, that evidence gap is a reasonable thing to weigh. Both are supplied in two strengths because these compounds step up gradually rather than starting at the target amount, tolerance to the gastrointestinal effects builds over time, and skipping ahead reliably produces a bad week.
