Ipamorelin and CJC-1295: What the Pairing Does

📅 June 18, 2026 ⏱️ 3 min read ✍️ Team TPS

Ipamorelin and CJC-1295 are stacked because they push the same door from two different sides. Neither is growth hormone. Both increase your own GH release, but through separate receptors, which is exactly why they are run together.

Two different mechanisms

Ipamorelin is a ghrelin receptor agonist, a GH secretagogue. It triggers a GH pulse from the pituitary. Its main selling point is selectivity: unlike older secretagogues, it has little effect on cortisol or prolactin, which is why it is generally regarded as the cleaner option in its class.

CJC-1295 (without DAC) is a GHRH analogue. Rather than triggering a pulse directly, it amplifies the pulse your body is already producing, it raises the ceiling rather than pressing the button.

Why the pairing makes sense

One presses the button, the other raises the ceiling. A secretagogue alone gives you a pulse limited by your natural GHRH signalling; a GHRH analogue alone amplifies pulses that may not be happening at a useful frequency. Together the pulse is both triggered and larger.

This is one of the better-reasoned stacks in the peptide world, which is why it is so commonly sold pre-blended, including as SerenQ Ipamorelin + CJC-1295 (no DAC) at 10mg and 5mg in a single 300 unit pen.

With DAC or without

This trips people up. CJC-1295 with DAC carries a Drug Affinity Complex that extends its half-life to days, producing a sustained elevation rather than pulses. Without DAC (sometimes called Mod GRF 1-29) is short-acting and preserves the natural pulsatile pattern.

Most stacks intended to mimic natural GH release use the no-DAC version, because the entire point is to enhance pulses rather than flatten them into a plateau. If a product does not state which it is, that is worth asking about before buying.

Versus actual growth hormone

Secretagogues work within your existing feedback loop, so the response is self-limiting, your pituitary will only release what it can. Exogenous somatropin bypasses that entirely and delivers a fixed dose regardless.

That makes secretagogues milder and generally cheaper, and it means they depend on having a pituitary that responds. See HGH kits, pens and secretagogues compared for the full picture, or browse HGH analogues and secretagogues.

Running them separately

A blend fixes the ratio at manufacture. If you want to run ipamorelin on its own first to establish how you respond, or adjust the ratio, the singles are stocked separately. As with any blend, you cannot unmix it later.
