This pen holds two compounds in a fixed 2:1 ratio, and the reason they are paired is that they approach the same gland from two different doors.
Ipamorelin is a pentapeptide growth hormone secretagogue that acts on the ghrelin receptor, GHS-R1a. What set it apart from earlier secretagogues such as GHRP-6 and GHRP-2 was selectivity: published work reported growth hormone release with comparatively little disturbance to cortisol, prolactin and ACTH, and a pulsed rather than sustained release pattern.
CJC-1295 no DAC, also written Modified GRF (1-29), is a different animal entirely. It is a shortened 29 amino acid GHRH analogue carrying four amino acid substitutions, each one there to blunt breakdown by the DPP-4 enzyme that dismantles natural GHRH within minutes. It acts on the GHRH receptor.
The rationale for combining them is receptor arithmetic. One acts on the GHRH receptor, the other on the ghrelin receptor, and studies examining GHRH analogues alongside secretagogues have reported a greater combined response than either produces alone. Both are short acting here, which is the point of the pairing rather than an oversight.
The pen format
This is where SerenQ does things differently. Instead of two lyophilised vials that have to be reconstituted and drawn up separately, both compounds arrive pre-blended in solution, already loaded into a graduated injection pen with a dial and a dose window. The ratio is fixed, so every dial setting gives the same 2:1 split.

Why this pairing, and why no-DAC
The two compounds in this pen work on different receptors and that is the entire point. Ipamorelin agonises the ghrelin receptor, it triggers a release. CJC-1295 is a GHRH analogue, it raises how much is available to release. Running either alone leaves half the mechanism unused.
The no-DAC part matters. The DAC modification binds CJC-1295 to albumin and stretches its half-life from hours into about a week, producing sustained elevation. No-DAC keeps the pulsatile pattern, which is closer to how the body actually releases growth hormone, and sustained signalling can desensitise receptors over time.
Against actual growth hormone: this pairing asks your pituitary for more of your own rather than supplying it from outside. That is a smaller effect than the HGH pens produce, without raising blood glucose the way exogenous GH does.
