Turinabol: Dry Gains and a Long Detection Window
Turinabol is the oral for people who do not want to look like they are running one. No aromatisation, no water, moderate results, and a long detection window that makes it a poor choice for anyone tested.
What it is
Turinabol is chlordehydromethyltestosterone, structurally a chlorinated variant of dianabol. That single chlorine addition removes the aromatisation, which changes the compound’s entire character.
Dry by design
Because it does not convert to oestrogen, there is no water retention and no oestrogenic side effect profile. Weight gained is tissue rather than fluid, so the scale moves slowly and what appears tends to stay.
That makes turinabol popular for lean gaining and for cutting, where anadrol or dianabol would be counterproductive.
Modest and predictable
Nobody uses turinabol for dramatic results. What it is credited with is steady strength and a hard look without the drama, a similar proposition to anavar, at lower cost.
It also has a reputation for good strength relative to how little it disrupts, which is why it persists.
SHBG and the free testosterone effect
Turinabol lowers SHBG, which raises free testosterone from whatever base is running. Part of what people attribute to the compound is actually their testosterone working harder: the same mechanism proviron is used for deliberately.
The detection window
This is turinabol’s defining practical problem. Its metabolites are detectable for an unusually long time, long enough that it has featured in doping cases years after use.
Anyone subject to testing of any kind should treat this compound as disqualifying rather than merely risky.
Still an alkylated oral
Hepatotoxic, suppressive, and hard on lipids like every oral in this class. “Mild” describes the side effect profile people notice, not the ones they do not. See orals vs injectables and PCT explained.
Where it fits
A lean gaining or cutting phase, short run, alongside a testosterone base, for someone who is not tested and wants results without water. See oral steroids compared.
