Spotting Counterfeit Peptides and PEDs

📅 July 15, 2026 ⏱️ 3 min read ✍️ Team TPS

Counterfeits in this market are rarely empty vials. They are usually a cheaper compound wearing a more expensive label. That is what makes them hard to spot and expensive to get wrong.

Why substitution is the standard fraud

An empty vial gets noticed immediately. A vial of testosterone labelled as primobolan does not: the user feels something, assumes it worked, and the margin on the swap is enormous.

The compounds most worth faking are the expensive ones: primobolan, anavar, and the newer peptides. If something is priced well below what the compound costs to make, that is the single strongest signal available to you.

Packaging tells you more than the liquid does

Print quality. Blurred text, uneven edges, inconsistent fonts and misaligned labels are the commonest tell. Legitimate manufacturing produces consistent print.

Batch and expiry. Present, legible, and consistent between carton and unit. Missing or mismatched is a serious flag.

Seals. Intact, even, properly crimped.

Spelling. It sounds trivial and it catches a surprising number of fakes.

Serialisation is the real defence

Everything above is judgement. A per-unit serial number with a manufacturer-side verification code is not. It is a check you can actually run, and one a counterfeiter cannot satisfy because they cannot issue valid codes.

The important detail is where the code resolves. It must go to the manufacturer’s own verification record, not to the seller’s website. A code that lands on a marketing page proves nothing. See verifying a SerenQ pen.

Why pens are harder to fake than vials

A vial is a stoppered glass container, easy to source, easy to fill, easy to label. A pre-filled injection pen is a manufactured mechanical device with a moulded body, a working dial mechanism and a sealed cartridge.

The barrier to producing a convincing counterfeit is simply much higher. Combined with per-unit serialisation, a pen is the harder thing to imitate. See peptide pens vs vials.

What the solution can and cannot tell you

Clear solution with no particles is a condition check, not an authenticity check. Cloudiness means stop, but clarity proves nothing about what is dissolved in it.

Equally, a genuine product handled badly is still degraded. Authenticity and condition are separate questions, cold chain and warm delivery covers the second.

What to do on arrival

Check the carton before opening. Confirm the serial. Scan the code and confirm where it resolves. Photograph everything with the serial visible, then refrigerate.

Do it on arrival rather than at first use, the window for resolving a problem is while the packaging is intact and the delivery is recent. Your first week with a peptide pen covers the sequence.
