What Is Test 400?

📅 August 22, 2026 ⏱️ 2 min read ✍️ Team TPS

Test 400 is a testosterone blend at 400mg per millilitre, and the number is the reason it is known for stinging.

What is in it

Test 400 combines multiple testosterone esters, typically a mix of short and long, to reach a total of 400mg in each millilitre. Test 350 is the same idea at a slightly lower concentration.

The hormone is ordinary testosterone. What is unusual is how much of it is packed into the volume.

Why high concentration exists

Fewer millilitres for the same amount of hormone. Someone running a high amount would otherwise be injecting uncomfortable volumes, and this reduces that.

That is a genuine use case, for people running high amounts. At ordinary amounts, volume was never the problem being solved.

Why it stings

Testosterone esters have a solubility limit in oil. Reaching 400mg/ml requires substantially more solvent, benzyl alcohol and benzyl benzoate, to keep everything dissolved.

Benzyl benzoate is strongly associated with post-injection irritation. It is not the hormone causing the pain; it is what was needed to dissolve that much of it. See injection pain and carrier oils.

The blend complication

Multiple esters means multiple release curves running at once, exactly as with Sustanon 250. That makes stable levels harder to reach and makes it harder to know when you are actually clear for recovery.

A single ester at 250mg/ml gives one curve and one variable. See testosterone esters compared.

If it hurts

Drop to a lower concentration of the same compound. You are reducing the solvent, not the hormone, and it usually solves the problem completely.

Warm the vial, use a fine needle to inject and a separate one to draw, inject slowly, and rotate sites. See injection sites and rotation.

Who it suits

Someone running high amounts who tolerates the solvents. It is a poor first choice: more discomfort, less predictability, and no benefit at amounts where volume is not the constraint.
