Serialised & QR Verified

Thymosin Alpha-1 is a 28 amino acid peptide originally isolated from thymosin fraction 5, an extract of the thymus. The thymus is where T cells mature, and this peptide is one of the signals that governs that maturation, which is what places it on the adaptive rather than the innate side of immune function.
Its described actions centre on T cell differentiation, dendritic cell maturation and the restoration of immune response in states where it is depressed. It also modulates rather than simply stimulates, which is the reason the clinical literature covers both immunodeficiency and conditions of immune overactivation.
Among the peptides sold in this format it has an unusually strong clinical record. Under the name Zadaxin it is licensed in more than thirty countries for hepatitis B and C and as an adjuvant in certain cancers, and it has been studied in sepsis and in severe respiratory infection. It has never obtained a UK or US licence, which is why it appears here rather than in a pharmacy.
The pen format
Clinical protocols for this peptide are typically 1.6mg, twice weekly, which is a slightly awkward amount to measure from a reconstituted vial and a straightforward 32 clicks on a dial.

Handling and storage
- Store refrigerated at 2 to 8°C. Do not freeze
- Keep in the outer carton, away from direct light
- Short periods at room temperature during transit are expected and normal
- Use a fresh sealed tip for each dispense and dispose of tips in a sharps container
- Expiry 12/2027 on sealed, correctly stored stock
- Keep out of reach of children and animals

Choosing between Thymosin Alpha-1, LL-37 and TB500
The naming causes most of the confusion here. Thymosin Alpha-1 and TB500 share a prefix and nothing else: TB500 is a fragment related to thymosin beta-4 and acts on actin and cell migration, which is a tissue repair mechanism. Thymosin Alpha-1 is an immune signalling peptide. They are not variants of one another and they are not interchangeable.
Against LL-37, the split is adaptive versus innate immunity, and the evidence base is the practical differentiator: Thymosin Alpha-1 has completed human trials and holds licences abroad, while LL-37 as an administered therapeutic remains early stage.

However, I feel the injection button mechanism could be improved, as it feels slightly flimsy when pressing down to release the solution. The dial/turning function also feels like it could be made more durable and sturdy. It would be great to see more needle heads included as standard, or alternatively have the option to purchase additional needles directly through your website for convenience. Overall, a good product with some small areas that could be improved to enhance the user experience.
