Serialised & QR Verified

LL-37 is the only human cathelicidin, a 37 amino acid antimicrobial peptide cleaved from the precursor protein hCAP18. It is produced by neutrophils, epithelial cells and keratinocytes, and forms part of the innate immune system: the fast, non-specific defence layer that acts before adaptive immunity has identified anything.
Its primary described action is direct membrane disruption of bacteria, which is a mechanical rather than a biochemical kill and is the reason resistance to it is uncommon. Beyond that, the research literature describes it as immunomodulatory rather than simply antimicrobial: it influences chemotaxis, neutralises bacterial endotoxin, and appears in work on wound closure and angiogenesis.
It has a genuinely two sided profile, and this is worth understanding before choosing it. The same peptide that closes wounds is implicated in the pathology of rosacea and psoriasis, where excess LL-37 in the skin drives inflammation rather than resolving it. It is not a compound where more is straightforwardly better.
The pen format
Doses in the LL-37 literature are small relative to the pen, which is exactly the case where a 20mcg dial step earns its keep. 6mg across 300 units gives fine control at the low end.

Handling and storage
- Store refrigerated at 2 to 8°C. Do not freeze

Choosing between LL-37, Thymosin Alpha-1 and KPV
These three get filed together as immune peptides and they do quite different things. LL-37 is innate immunity: direct antimicrobial action plus modulation of the inflammatory response. Thymosin Alpha-1 works on the adaptive side, on T cell maturation and dendritic cell function, and has by far the strongest clinical record of the three, including licensed use in several countries.
KPV is the tripeptide tail of alpha-MSH and is purely anti-inflammatory, with no antimicrobial activity at all. Where LL-37 can push inflammation in either direction depending on context, KPV only damps it, which makes it the more predictable choice when suppression is the goal.

However, I feel the injection button mechanism could be improved, as it feels slightly flimsy when pressing down to release the solution. The dial/turning function also feels like it could be made more durable and sturdy. It would be great to see more needle heads included as standard, or alternatively have the option to purchase additional needles directly through your website for convenience. Overall, a good product with some small areas that could be improved to enhance the user experience.
